This year's North East Lincolnshire Media Awards for primary and secondary schools was held at the Grimsby Auditorium on Wednesday 14th July. In front of an audience of 600 pupils, teachers, parents and guests. Presenters, Leanne Brown and Philip Norton from BBC Look North announced the winners of this year's competition. All schools that entered were presented by the Mayor of North East Lincolnshire with an Oscar trophy and a certificate and the winners of each category received prizes donated by sponsors such as Web Cams and online content. The audience were entertained by a presentation created by East Coast Media incorporating the school's films on subjects varying from the Three Little Pigs to keeping safe on the Internet. The audience were asked to text in their comments during the performance - which they did with great enthusiasm! The feedback from the event has been extremely positive and it was a wonderful evening during which the creativity of pupils and the innovative use of technology by teachers in the schools in North East Lincolnshire was celebrated in true Oscar night style.
