Formative Assessment in History: Formative assessment is day to day on-going assessment as part of the repertoire of teaching strategies, based on how well pupils fulfil learning objectives, providing feedback and involving pupils in improving their learning. Formative assessment is not one thing. It is a wealth of different strategies and products.
